Egg whites 8/9/15

For our last science rotation we went to Room 16. We were learning about egg whites. Mrs Walker cracked an egg and poured the egg white into a big bowl.

It was a yellowish, runny liquid. We wanted to find out what would happen if we mixed it up.

We all had a turn using the beater.

There were lots of bubbles in it.

It changed from a yellowish colour to really white!

And it wasn't so runny anymore! Mrs Walker tried to tip it on Jessica but it didn't pour out! We learnt that the beater made lots of air bubbles and the egg white wrapped around the air to hold the bubbles.

Sophie is a big air bubble and Bella is the egg white wrapping around the bubble. After that, Mrs Walker used the egg white to make cookies.

We all got to try one. Mmm!
